Artist Biography

Born in 2003, Zapopan México. Elizabeth Walker grew up in Belfast and now lives and works in Bournemouth. Where she currently is in her final year of completing her BA in Fine Art at Arts University Bournemouth (AUB).

Walker has exhibited consistently during her studies. With her recent exhibitions including “Roots” a group exhibition in which her paintings were selected for the Boscombe Summer Arts Festival and “Constructing Sunday” a group exhibition with MA painting at Lighthouse centre, Poole. Where she was the only BA student from her year featured.  She was recently awarded two Artist Residencies with AUB and Bournemouth Emerging Artist Fringe. In addition, her first solo show will take place February 2024 at Bournemouth Underground Gallery.

She works with Oil paint, ink, graphite and digital collage. Her recent paintings seek to express the shared experience and complexity of moving in between cultures. There is a strong focus on materiality in her practice, with visible brushstrokes and a colour blocking approach to painting.
